Stood at Camp Carroll and Khe Sanh and the Rock Pile where I stared at Mutter's Ridge and prayed for my brothers. I want to find Gary Goins, Larry Flanagan, Kenny Hurrell or anyone with D-1-3 from May '68 to June '69. As Kenny said my last day in the bush, Mutter's Ridge of course, "Man, we seen some shit."

It was a former Marine base, I believe Hill 442. Very steep on one side and we were told a Marine had won the CMH there. Comments: To correct my former message: I am looking for Tankers that may have been attached out to "C" CO. 1/4 in the time period of 19-20 May 1966 in the area of Thua Thien Province near the hamlet of Don-O. We had set in for the night around an abandoned trench from sometime earlier (DUMB)! Anyway the CO made the Trench his CP. We where hit bye incoming mortars at approx. 0430 on the morning of 20 May.

Comments: 6 mo. cruise may-oct 74. Participated in Kangaroo 1 in Australia and then 1 wk liberty in Sydney. Hit a typhoon coming back from Taiwan to Oki at end of cruise Rotated back to states a week before 2/9 left as a diversionary force for the evacuation of Saigon.

Comments: My late father, C. Ward Harris, served as an artillery computer with H&S 1/12 at Bougainville and Guam. He was shipped back the the US for OCS at Quantico, VA (some-one elses idea, he didn't apply for it) sometime between Guam and Iwo Jima. Dad worked with Baker Battery 1/12 and said they were attached to the 9th Marines in combat. He had great admiration for the 9th. If you knew him, please e-mail. He died 11/14/93.
