I need some help!! My late father served from 68-72. He was in the Marine Corps. He recently passed away from Hodgkins Lympoma related to his exposure to Agent Orange. We have to prove to the Veterans Administration that he was actually in Vietnam becasue of a fire in the buildings where the records were kept. We have found an envelope with the address which follows: MABS-15 MAG-15 1ST MAW REAR F/S If anyone was with this unit or could give us information on where they were at the time the letter was mailed the postmark on the envelope is December 4th 1969 my family would be very appreciative. This is something that he asked us to do before his death. My email address is shilito2002@yahoo.com

My oldest brother, Raymond Oliver ("Red") Norwood died 3 years ago in Renton, WA shortly after his 80th birthday. Red served with the 3rd Div. in the Bougainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima campaigns, and he continued to be a Marine at heart throughout his whole lifetime. I discovered this website while looking for details in his service record. I'm only sorry that he did not get to view it. Joined 9th November 66 at hill 55 outside Da Nang. Company took road trip to Dong Ha about April next year. That was a real eye opener. Spent time also at Cam Lo, Con Thien and with tracks where Cua Viet river emptys into China Sea. Have lost contact with most the Marines I served with. Would really like to hear from those that served same. Anyone know if 9th have reunions? semper fi and "welcome home"

It isn't clear if this site is still posting comments as I couldn't get the later pages up.

Our family is facing a terminal situation and before that occurs we want to tear down all the walls. In order to do this we need to make connection with Corpsmen Stanley Wernicki. WW11. He was stationed at Corona Naval Hospital in 1944 but shipped out within a year. We were told by another serviceman who knew him that his ship was hit at sea. That has never been corroborated and we do not know that he died. His name was Stanley Wernicki, tall, slim, light hair. From either area around NY city or nearby Jersey. This is June 2004 and time is of the essence. Please contact me by the above email address. If you knew him or have any helpful information. This email will be in effect until time ends!

Sure am glad I found this site, While with 513, at Atsugi, Japan worked on the flight line. I was the plane captain for aircraft #8 and also stood strip alert. does anyone recall the aircraft number 127/8 written on the side of F3D aircraft. When with VMCJ-1 I had a real close friend, Hoot Gibson, the runway was going to be repaired and the unit moved us to Cubic Point at Subic Bay. Sure did love those good ole San Miguels, we had tropical hours, could be in town in the afternoon. Sure would like to here from someone.

I was at FLC Da Nang during Mar69-Sep69. I was their when the ammo dump went up and we had to wear steel pot and flak jackets if we went ouside our hootch,s. That was one hellva explosion. Neaver did get the whole story about how it went up. The thing I remember most about being in country was the heat. I used to go to bed sweating and wake up sweating. If any other marines out there were assigned to FLC during this time period get back with a email. Especially anyone who was with the clubs section. Take care fellow marines. Semper Fi.

It is with great sadness I report the passing of your Bro', my uncle, GySgt Gerrill Clayton ( Clay ) Beymer, 0n the 15th of May 2004, of complications after back surgery. My name is Jim Therrell. I would very much appreciate any comments or info about Clay and his unit(s)histories. I know that he served with H and H&S companies of the 2nd/4th as a radio repairman between June-October of 1965 and participated in Operation Starlight at Chu Lai. After that he went to 1st Force Recon, and I think he was with the 3rd Bn, but I'm not sure beyond that. So if any of his bro's from Recon are out there, please drop me a line at: rumbleschpikle@hotmail.com Also, thanks to GySgt Beemer for representing the Marines at Clay's memorial service in Colorado. Thank you....Semper Fi.

I am looking for anyone who has information or photos on the 3rd Marine Division, 9th Regiment during WW2. I am trying to find any information on my grandfather and the places of where and when he fought. His name was Elba Walker. He was, at the end of the war a PFC and was offered to be moved up a rank when the war was over but declined and took an honorable discharge instead.

I was with 2/26 "Fighting Nomads" from 5-68 thru 12-68. Foxtrot Co.3rd Platoon. Danang>Quanf-Tri>Dong Ha>Rockpile>Con Thien(A-3)>Gio Lihn all with 3rd MarDiv. Then we went "Afloat" late Aug68 and choppered on&off the USS Princeton(LPH5). I think this is where 2/26's nickname comes in. While Fox 2/26 was attched to other small units, we were attached to the 1st MarDiv and the 9th MAB. I was Honorably discharged with the 9TH MAB on my DD:214 in June69. Was mostly south of Danang at places like Hoi An, An Hoa, Dodge City, Arizona Territory with the 9Th MAB. "Operation Meade River"(10-20-68 thru 12-9-68). LZ MARGO and "Mutter's Ridge" were not good places, but Arizona and Dodge weren't either. I did have some good times at A-3 even tho we got shelled a bit. The bunkers were reinforced and I guess it was one of the safer places I was at in Vietnam. I also like choppering around alot(hey less humpin' the jungle). I liked flyin' but there were some hot LZ's. It was also nice spendin' a few days on the USS Princeton, you know "Three hots and a cot". The ship also had movies, snackbar and a PX. Lots of card games..."Back-Alley" anyone? It was nice at the rear of the ship watching the water churn away. Land, Air, and Sea...the Marine Corps Emblem. Semper-Fidelis to L/Cpl. James Rinehart and L/Cpl. David Freed( both KIA 9-68) who gave their all. signed L/Cpl. Kerry Koper(Chicago or KK nicknames) VN1968

Really would love an e-mail from anyone who remembers or was in the brig riots at Camp Pendleton, CA in approximately February 1970. I served 69-71 and was a brig guard and am trying to back up my case for PTSD. Even though I did not go to Viet Nam, the brig was just about as bad for those who worked in it and went thru the riots. I have asked for records concerning the riot, but they have been misteriously deleted from all files and the only mention I have found was a report of riots written February 25, 1970, but no info about it. Also would love to hear from anyone who recognizes my name and served with me.
